La Cala de Mijas

 La Cala de Mijas or just "La Cala" as this wonderful Andalucian village is affectionately known to locals, is situated on the Costa del Sol in Andalucia approximately 20 minutes drive from Malaga International Airport (AGP). The long golden sandy beaches are well cared for, very clean and stretch for miles. Whilst La Cala is quite obviously a traditional Andalucian Coastal Village in style, La Cala has absorbed a somewhat International flavour over recent years. There is a wide range of professional services available: Schools, Pharmacies, banks, doctors, lawyers, dentists at standards equally as high as those in the UK. Medical care in particular is first class - the hi-tech Costa del Sol Hospital is 15 minutes in the direction of Marbella, and the ground-breaking Carlos Haya Malaga Hospital just 25 mins in the opposite direction.

La Cala boasts a plethora of quality indoor & outdoor sports and leisure facilities in and around La Cala de Mijas. Watersports, horse riding & trekking, karting, diving, tennis clubs, gymnasiums, dive centres and of course, International competition standard golf courses at La Cala Golf Resort (60 holes), Mijas Golf (36), Santana Golf(18) and El Chaparral(18). These Golf Clubs welcome non-members, tuition is available and equipment is available for hire.

Dining out in La Cala Restaurants ranges from simple to high class expensive gourmet. The restaurants available include Thai, French, Indian, Chinese & Spanish restaurants.We will be adding virtual tours and reviews of these over the following months. Restaurant prices are very low in this part of Spain when compared with most of Northern Europe but the standard is very high.
